Hi from Alabama! I'm so glad you came to meet the Bones and all our guidelines we will toss at you from cooking to gardening, home projects to art. I chose the name "Guidelines" after a favorite family movie quote because I find myself often saying it as I write recipes, cook in the kitchen, or plant the garden. Every step or ingredient is ever changing in our household (usually because of what's in the fridge, growing in the garden or available at the market.) 🤣 My life, it seems is lived by guidelines and I would love to share those with you! Come play along with us as we create. Bone Appetit!
Monday- Valentine's Beef Wellington Minis with Fingerling Potatoes and Pear Gorganzola Salad and Chocolate Pots of Love
Tuesday- Sous Vide Filet with Criss Cross Potatoes and Fried Cheese Bites Salad and served with a side of Classic Cherry Pie
Wednesday- Broccoli Cheddar Soup with a GIANT Crouton
Thursday- Kielbasa Sausage with Peppers and Onions
Friday- Homemade Sriracha Sauce
Saturday- Southern Chicken Salad- 2 ways
Sunday- Pickled Onion and Chickpea Salad with Blackened Tilapia
New year, new garden! Welcome 2023!! We hope you bring us a great garden year!! So far, you've brought us LOTS of rain and it has been impossible to till! Ugh! Well we've waited long enough and our strawberry boxes will now be our onions boxes. We finally got our Creole onion and Candy onions planted and I'm dreaming of all the great things I'm going to make with these giants. They say, "don't count your eggs before they hatch," but I just can't help it!! French onion soup, fried onion blossoms on a cheat day, philly cheese with peppers and onions, quick pickled onions for a catfish fry with greens, onion rings for another cheat day!! Oh, I can't wait!!
It's also time to start seeds indoors from peppers to tomatoes, herbs and cool weather plants like Broccoli, cauliflower, peas and lettuce. I always find this time exciting watching nature at its best!! We make a lesson out of it for our kids and watch our tiny seeds sprout daily.
It's also time to prune our roses! With a couple of pokes, scratches and cuss words they are trimmed 50 percent and ready for their compost feeding!! I can't wait for beauty to arrive.
You have questions, I have guideline answers. Ask away!
